~ 7 Results of the Word
of God ~
Born Again by the Word
~ “Since
you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently
with a pure heart, having been born again,
not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through
the Word of God which lives and abides forever” (1 Peter 1:22-23). “Every
good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father
of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. Of His own will He brought us forth by the Word of truth, that we might be a kind
of firstfruits of His creatures” (James 1:17-18).
Cleansed by the Word
~ “Husbands,
love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,
that He might sanctify and cleanse her with
the washing of water by the Word, that He might present her to Himself a
glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she
should be holy and without blemish” (Ephesians
5:25-27). “How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed
according to Your Word” (Psalm 119:9).
Saved by the Word
~ “Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine.
Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself
and those who hear you” (1 Timothy 4:16). “Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and
receive with meekness the implanted Word,
which is able to save your souls” (James 1:21).
Growing by the Word
~ “Therefore,
laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, as
newborn babes, desire the pure milk of
the Word, that you may grow thereby, if indeed
you have tasted that the Lord is gracious” (1 Peter 2:1-3). “Your words were
found, and I ate them, and Your Word was to me
the joy and rejoicing of my heart; for I am
called by Your name, O Lord God of hosts” (Jeremiah 15:16).
Sanctified by the Word ~ Jesus while praying to the Father said, “Sanctify them by Your truth. Your Word is truth” (John 17:17). “For every creature of
God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving;
for it is sanctified by the Word of God
and prayer” (1 Timothy 4:4-5).
Enlightened by the Word
~ “The
statutes of the Lord are right,
rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord
is pure, enlightening the eyes” (Psalm 19:8). “Your Word is a lamp to my
feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105).
Kept by the Word
~ “Concerning
the works of men, by the Word of Your
lips, I have kept away from the paths of the destroyer” (Psalm 17:4). Jesus said, “Because you
have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial
which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. Behold,
I am coming quickly! Hold fast what
you have, that no one may take your crown” (Revelation 3:10-11).
