~ The Basics of the Atonement of Christ for Your Sin ~

Its Necessity  ~  “According to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission. (Hebrews 9:22).  “A messenger who would mercifully intervene, canceling the death sentence with the words: ‘I’ve come up with the ransom’!” (Job 33:24, The Message). 

Its Nature  ~  “The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, ‘Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world’!” (John 1:29).  “I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures” (1 Corinthians 15:3).  “Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit” (1 Peter 3:18). 

Its Sufficiency  ~  “Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption” (Hebrews 9:12).  “Walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma” (Ephesians 5:2).
