God’s Hand

~ The Hand of the Lord ~

the basic fact:  Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; nor His ear heavy, that it cannot hear” (Isaiah 59:1).  The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand” (John 3:35).

The Lord’s Hand In Salvation  ~  Now those who were scattered after the persecution that arose over Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to no one but the Jews only. But some of them were men from Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they had come to Antioch, spoke to the Hellenists, preaching the Lord Jesus.  And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord” (Acts 11:19-21).

The Lord’s Hand In Keeping  ~  Jesus said, “While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name.  Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.  But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves.  I have given them Your Word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world” (John 17:12-14).

The Lord’s Hand In Protection  ~  Jesus said, “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.  My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand.  I and My Father are one” (John 10:28-30).

The Lord’s Hand In Judgment  ~  “Then Saul, who also is called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him and said, ‘O full of all deceit and all fraud, you son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease perverting the straight ways of the Lord?  And now, indeed, the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you shall be blind, not seeing the sun for a time.’  And immediately a dark mist fell on him, and he went around seeking someone to lead him by the hand.  Then the proconsul believed, when he saw what had been done, being astonished at the teaching of the Lord” (Acts 13:9-12).
