7 Exhortations

~ Are You “Letting” the Spirit of God Do His Work In You? ~

Let The Peace of God Rule In Your Hearts (serenity)  ~  “Let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful” (Colossians 3:15).

Let The Word of Christ Dwell In You (strength)  ~  “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord” (Colossians 3:16).

Let His Mind Be In You (conformity)  ~  “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men” (Philippians 2:5-7).

Let Your Gentleness Be Evident (character)  ~  “Let your gentleness be known to all men.  The Lord is at hand” (Philippians 4:5).  

Let Your Lifestyle Be Attractive (conduct)  ~  “Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have.  For He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you’” (Hebrews 13:5).  

Let Your Light Shine Before Others (testimony)  ~  Jesus said, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).   

Let Your Life Be Ever Ready (watchfulness)  ~  Jesus said, “Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning; and you yourselves be like men who wait for their master, when he will return from the wedding, that when he comes and knocks they may open to him immediately” (Luke 12:35-36).  “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed” (1 Peter 3:15-16).

summary: Let Your Life Display the Love of Christ ~  “But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection” (Colossians 3:14).  Jesus said, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.  By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:34-35).
