Christ in 1 Peter

~ Jesus Christ Is The Chief Shepherd ~

The Bible is about Jesus Christ  ~  “Jesus said to them, ‘How foolish you are, and how slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken!  Did not the Christ have to suffer these things and then enter His glory?’  And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning Himself” (Luke 24:25-27).

Jesus Christ in 1 Peter  ~  He is the Resurrected One and our Chief Shepherd who will return soon.  He is the Chief Cornerstone, and the Rock.

“Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you, searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow.  To them it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to us they were ministering the things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven — things which angels desire to look into” (1 Peter 1:10-12).

Compare the Following Passages  ~  “The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone.  This was the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes” (Psalm 118:22-23).  “Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient, ‘The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone’” (1 Peter 2:7).

Comment  ~  We have only touched the surface of Christ in 1 Peter.  The Apostle Paul told us the Scriptures present many shadows of things to come but the reality is found in Jesus Christ (Colossians 2:17).
