~ Good People ~
People Think ~ “Mankind is basically good.”
The Bible Says ~ “As it is written: ‘There is none righteous, no, not one; there is none who understands; there is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; they have together become unprofitable; there is none who does good, no, not one’” (Romans 3:10-12). “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
Speaking of believers—those who are viewed by God as having Christ’s righteousness (not their own) the Scripture says this: “All of us used to be just as they are, our lives expressing the evil within us, doing every wicked thing that our passions or our evil thoughts might lead us into. We started out bad, being born with evil natures, and were under God’s anger just like everyone else” (Ephesians 2:3, TLB).
The Solution ~ “Jesus answered and said to Nicodemus, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God’” (John 3:3).
“As through one man’s [Adam] offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s [Jesus’] righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life” (Romans 5:18).
“If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:9-10).
Comment ~ All parents who are honest with themselves know that we are all sinners. Parents don’t teach infants to misbehave, but it isn’t long before there sweet little new baby is displaying their sin nature.
