In this series we look at God’s names (formal and informal from Biblical and English languages) as well as clear descriptors of God from Scripture.  In 26 posts we look at names which start with a successive letter of the English alphabet.  (Only a sample of many references are provided.)  Each of these names / descriptors apply to one or more members of the Triune Godhead. 

HA SHEM / HASHEM (The Name)  ~  Leviticus 24:11.  Note: Traditionally, Jews out of respect say HaShem when speaking of Him, and during the reading of the Torah or the Siddur (prayer book) when YHVH is encountered in the text, the word Adonai is spoken, which means Lord or Master.

HODE (Majesty)  ~  Job 37:22-23

HOLY  ~  Isaiah 6:3; Revelation 4:8; Leviticus 19:2

HOLY ONE  ~  Psalm 71:22, 89:18; Habakkuk 1:12; Luke 1:35; Acts 2:27

HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL  ~  Isaiah 41:14, 43:3, 14-15

Holy Spirit  ~  John 14:12-17 15:26-27, 16:7-8; 1 John 2:1-6

Hope of Israel  ~  Jeremiah 17:13

HORN OF SALVATION  ~  Luke 1:69

HUMAN  ~  Luke 5:24, 6:5; John 3:13-14; Hebrews 4:15

HUMBLE  ~  Philippians 2:6-8; Matthew 11:29

HUMOR  ~  Psalm 2:4.  Note: When the existing culture is considered you find much humor in the life of Christ while He was on earth.  Perhaps an example of God’s humor which any culture can understand is found in Hebrews 11:12—God got the last laugh.
