Jesus Was—But, 11

~ Consider His Self-Existence ~

Introduction  ~  Each post in this series looks at an historical event and then follows it up with part of “The Rest of The Story” (as Paul Harvey used to say).

Jesus Was  ~  The Beloved Apostle, John, gives us insight into this topic: “I tell you the truth, Jesus answered, before Abraham was born, I AM” (John 8:58).

Consider also: I am The Bread of Life” (John 6:35).  I am The Light of the World” (John 8:12).  I am The Gate” (John 10:9).  I am The Good Shepherd” (John 10:11).  I am The Resurrection and the Life” (John 11:25).  I am The Way, the Truth, and the Life” (John 14:6).  I am The True Vine” (John 15:1).

But There Is More To The Story  ~  “Then He who sat on the throne said, ‘Behold, I make all things new.’  And He said to me, ‘Write, for these words are true and faithful.’  And He said to me, ‘It is done!  I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End.  I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts’” (Revelation 21:5-7).  This statement “I am the Alpha and the Omega” is repeated four times in the Book of Revelation.

Note  ~  Alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet and Omega is the last letter.  This is the equivalent for English speaking people as “I am the A and the Z, the beginning and the end.”
