Jesus Was Rejected, 16

~ Slandered In Court, 1 ~

This Series ~ Jesus Christ came to earth to save sinners. He lived a sinless life. He was a truly righteous man. But He was rejected by mankind. He died a cruel, painful death as a penalty for our sins. Those who now accept Him and trust Him for eternal salvation will live forever with Him without any more pains or sadness.

Scripture ~ “And those who had laid hold of Jesus led Him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled. 58 But Peter followed Him at a distance to the high priest’s courtyard. And he went in and sat with the servants to see the end.

59 “Now the chief priests, the elders, and all the council sought false testimony against Jesus to put Him to death, 60 but found none. Even though many false witnesses came forward, they found none. But at last two false witnesses came forward 61and said, ‘This fellow said, “I am able to destroy the temple of God and to build it in three days”‘“ (Matthew 26:59, see also Mark 14:53–65; Luke 22:54, 55, 63–65; John 18:12, 18, 24),
