~ The Perfection of God ~
Perfection of God, the Father
~ Jesus
said, “Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect” (Matthew
5:48). “Do not be
conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that
you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God” (Romans 12:2). “As for God, His way is perfect;
the word of
the Lord is proven;
He is a
shield to all who trust in Him” (2 Samuel 22:31).
Perfection of Jesus Christ, the Son of
God ~ “For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by
whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect
through sufferings” (Hebrews 2:10).
“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and
perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross,
scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider Him who endured such opposition from
sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart” (Hebrews 12:2-3).
The Perfect Divine Sacrifice
~ “Day
after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and
again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But when this priest [Jesus Christ] had
offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, He sat down at the right hand of
God. Since that time He waits for His
enemies to be made His footstool, because by
one sacrifice He has made perfect forever those who are being made holy”
(Hebrews 10:11-14). “For the law appoints as high priests men who have weakness,
but the word of the oath, which came after the law, appoints the Son who has been perfected forever”
(Hebrews 7:28).
