~ Jesus Christ Is The Teacher of
Wisdom ~
The Bible is about Jesus Christ
~ “Jesus
said to them, ‘How foolish you are, and how slow of heart to believe all that
the prophets have spoken! Did not the
Christ have to suffer these things
and then enter His glory?’ And beginning
with Moses and all the Prophets, He explained to them what was said in all the
Scriptures concerning Himself” (Luke 24:25-27).
Jesus Christ in Ecclesiastes is somewhat similar to Jesus Christ
in Proverbs in that He is closely associated with wisdom. In Proverbs Jesus Christ is seen as the wise
Son and our source of wisdom. In
Ecclesiastes Jesus Christ is seen possessing the wisdom of God and inspiring
the application of wisdom. He is the
Preacher, the Son of David, and the King of Jerusalem. Most importantly, like Proverbs He is the
source of our wisdom—He is our Teacher.
The Book
of Ecclesiastes repeatedly asks questions such as: What value is there in our life on
earth? Is life really meaningless? The answer to the questions are: It all
depends! If our efforts on earth are
self-centered working for recognition or pleasure life can quickly lose all
meaning. However, life that has meaning
is available and only found in God—and that is the reason for Jesus coming to
earth. He came to allow us to restore a
relationship with God Himself which provides great meaning and purpose to
life.
The Apostle
Paul told us the Scriptures present many shadows of things to come but the
reality is found in Jesus Christ (Colossians 2:17).
