Begin—End, 9of12

~ See God ~

There are a number of fascinating parallels between the first three chapters of the Bible (Genesis 1-3) and the last three chapters of the Bible (Revelation 20-22).  In between we find 1,183 chapters which record mankind’s struggles as well as instructions for the struggle.  In this series each post looks at one of the parallels—it is not an exhaustive coverage of all the parallels.

The Beginning  ~  Once sin entered mankind could no longer look directly at God.  “And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden” (Genesis 3:8).

The Middle  ~  “And Jesus said, ‘For judgment I have come into this world, that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may be made blind’” (John 9:39).  For those who have put their trust in the shed blood of Jesus Christ spiritual blindness has been removed.  “For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face.  Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known” (1 Corinthians 13:12).  “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord” (2 Corinthians 3:16).

The End  ~  “There shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him.  They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads” (Revelation 22:3-4).
