~ Why Attend a Local Church? ~
To
Obey God’s Word ~ “And
let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not
forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but
exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching” (Hebrews
10:24-25).
To
Receive Instruction ~ “All
Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for
reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God
may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
To
Worship God With Other Christians ~ “Again
I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they
ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together
in My name, I am there in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:19-20).
To
Fellowship With Other Christians ~ “Two
are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his
companion. But woe to him who is alone
when he falls, for he has no one to help him up. Again, if two lie down together, they will
keep warm; but how can one be warm alone? Though one may be overpowered by another, two
can withstand him. And a threefold cord
is not quickly broken” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12).
To
serve Other Christians ~ “And
above all things have fervent love for one another, for ‘love will cover a multitude
of sins.’ Be hospitable to one another
without grumbling. As each one has
received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold
grace of God. If anyone speaks, let him
speak as the oracles of God. If anyone
ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all
things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and
the dominion forever and ever. Amen” (1
Peter 4:8-11).
