~ Does He Treat Every Patient the
Same? ~
Does God
have a plan tailored for your life?
The
following is an excerpt from a book.
God
is referred to as the Great Physician. Part of a physician’s role is to
prescribe what is necessary for the best health of each patient. This takes
judgment; patients with the same generic illness may receive a different
prescription from each other depending upon their age, health, potential
interactions with their other medicines, and other factors. God is the author
of variety and He does not desire the exact same thing for each of His
children.
Near the end of the Gospel of John, Peter asks Jesus what John should be doing. Our Lord replied, "If I will that he remain till I come, what is that to you? You follow Me" (John 21:21-22). It is clear that God’s desires for each of us may vary.

This should
not be surprising. After all, God’s thoughts are not our thoughts and He
operates in a different time frame than we do. It is foolish to allow your own
desires to interfere with God’s desires—what is best for you—as you go about
your life on earth! As a Christian your competence, charisma, intellect, or
accomplishments cannot compensate for an unholy lifestyle. Your highest good
comes in living a holy life in complete submission to God’s desires for
you.
