~ Are You Living In Unity with Your Fellow Christians? ~
Introduction ~
There are at least eleven times in the Book of Acts that we find the
phrase “in one accord.” While the wag
has suggested that it must have been “one crowded Honda” the reality is that
there is much to be learned about unity within the body of Christ. Consider a few of those passages below.
In One Accord In
PRAYER ~ “These all continued with one accord in prayer and
supplication, with the women and
Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers” (Acts
1:14). “And
being let go, they went to their own companions and reported all that the chief
priests and elders had said to them. So
when they heard that, they raised their
voice to God with one accord and said: ‘Lord, You are God, who made heaven
and earth and the sea, and all that is in them’” (Acts 4:23-24).
In One Accord
Responding to The WORD
~ “Then
Philip went down to the city of
Samaria and preached Christ to them. And the
multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and
seeing the miracles which he did” (Acts 8:5-6).
In One Accord in
FELLOWSHIP Together
~ “So continuing daily with one accord in the
temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with
gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the
people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved” (Acts
2:46-47). “And through the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were
done among the people. And they were all with one accord in
Solomon’s Porch” (Acts 5:12).
In One Accord in
PEACE and Harmony
~ “It
seemed good to us, being assembled with
one accord, to send chosen men to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, men
who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Acts
15:25-26).
