Christ’s Feet

~ 7 Reasons To Be At Jesus’ Feet ~

For Forgiveness  ~  Then one of the Pharisees asked Him to eat with him.  And He went to the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to eat.  And behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil, and stood at His feet behind Him weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head; and she kissed His feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil” (Luke 7:36-38).

For Healing  ~  “And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people” (Matthew 4:23).  “And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment.  For she said to herself, ‘If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well.’  But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, ‘Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well.’  And the woman was made well from that hour” (Matthew 9:20-22).  “But when the multitudes knew it, they followed Him; and He received them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who had need of healing” (Luke 9:11).

For Instruction  ~  “She had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word” (Luke 10:39).

In Distress  ~  “Then, when Mary came where Jesus was, and saw Him, she fell down at His feet, saying to Him, ‘Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died’” (John 11:32).

In Prayer  ~  And behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue.  And he fell down at Jesus’ feet and begged Him to come to his house, for he had an only daughter about twelve years of age, and she was dying” (Luke 8:41-42).

In Fear  ~  “And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead.  But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me,Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last.  I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore.  Amen.  And I have the keys of Hades and of Death’” (Revelation 1:17-19).

In Worship  ~  “And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks” (Luke 17:15-16a).

Sanctified Feet

~ 6 Biblical Concepts of Christian Feet ~

A root meaning of the Biblical word “sanctified” is “set apart.”  Are your feet—your actions—set apart for God?

Feet Placed On Solid Ground (salvation)  ~  I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined to me, and heard my cry.  He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps.  He has put a new song in my mouth  Praise to our God; many will see it and fear, and will trust in the Lord” (Psalm 40:1-3).

Feet Cleansed By The Word (communion)  ~  “Peter said to Him, ‘You shall never wash my feet!’  Jesus answered him, ‘If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me.’  Simon Peter said to Him, ‘Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head!’  Jesus said to him, ‘He who is bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean’” (John 13:8-10a).

Feet Kept By Divine Power (preservation)  ~  “For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, and He has set the world upon them.  He will guard the feet of His saints, but the wicked shall be silent in darkness” (1 Samuel 2:8-9).

Feet Wearing Footwear of Peace (the Gospel)  ~  Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints” (Ephesians 6:14-18).

Feet Running With The Gospel (service)  ~  How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed?  And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard?  And how shall they hear without a preacher?  And how shall they preach unless they are sent?  As it is written:How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!’” (Romans 10:14-15).

Feet Crushing Satan (victory)  ~  For your obedience has become known to all.  Therefore I am glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil.  And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.  Amen” (Romans 16:19-20).

Are your feet sanctified for the Master’s use?
