Christ in Isaiah

~ Jesus Christ Is the “Prince of Peace” ~

The Bible is about Jesus Christ  ~  “Jesus said to them, ‘How foolish you are, and how slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken!  Did not the Christ have to suffer these things and then enter His glory?’  And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning Himself” (Luke 24:25-27).

In the book of Isaiah we find Jesus Christ as the Messiah, the Holy One of Israel, the Judge, and most prominently the Prince of Peace.  We see Him as righteous, comforting, and offering salvation.

God as Judge will not only judge His people but also all the nations.  God also will bring about salvation—and He will do this through His Son, Servant, and Chosen One.  Listen to what God the Father says, “Behold!  My Servant [Jesus Christ] whom I uphold, My Elect One [Jesus Christ] in whom My soul delights!  I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles” (Isaiah 42:1).  God in all Triune personalities is declared in this single verse.

Jesus Christ, The Messiah, came to earth on a mission.  The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn, to console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified” (Isaiah 61:1-3).

Isaiah also prophecies that this Servant of God will bear the sins of the people by suffering and dying.  After that the Lord will glorify Him (for example read 52:13—53:12).
