“Now a good
way off from them there was a herd of many swine feeding. So the demons begged
Him, saying, ‘If You cast us out, permit us to go away into the herd of swine.’
And He said to them, ‘Go.’ So when they had come out, they went into the herd
of swine. And suddenly the whole herd of swine ran violently down the steep
place into the sea, and perished in the water” (Matthew 8:30-32; see also
Mark 5:11-16 and Luke 8:32:33).
“Now in the
morning, as He returned to the city, He was hungry. And seeing a fig tree by
the road, He came to it and found nothing on it but leaves, and said to it, ‘Let
no fruit grow on you ever again.’ Immediately the fig tree withered away”
(Matthew 21:18-19; see also Mark 11:12-14).
