~ 7 Characteristics of the “New Walk”
~
Walk In Light
~ “We walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one
another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin” (1
John 1:7b).
Walk In Love
~ “Therefore
be imitators of God as dear children.
And walk in love, as Christ also
has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God
for a sweet-smelling aroma” (Ephesians 5:1-2).
Walk In The Spirit ~ “Isay then: Walk in
the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and
the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you
do not do the things that you wish. But
if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law” (Galatians 5:16-18).
Walk In Truth
~ “Beloved,
I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul
prospers. For I rejoiced greatly when
brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my
children walk in truth” (3 John 2-4).
special warning ~ Be
alert and aware of false teachers along the path. “Which untaught and
unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the
Scriptures. You therefore, beloved,
since you know this beforehand, beware
lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error
of the wicked; but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both
now and forever. Amen.
(2 Peter 3:16b-18).
Walk In Good Works
~ “For
we are His workmanship, created in Christ
Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Ephesians
2:10).
Walk In Wisdom
~ “Walk in wisdom toward those who are
outside, redeeming the time. Let your
speech always be with grace [speak more positively than the person deserves],
seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one” (Colossians
4:5-6).
Walk Wisely
~ “See
then that you walk circumspectly, not as
fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do
not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is” (Ephesians
5:15-17).
