~ Be Thankful For His Lovingkindness ~

Scripture ~ “Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name!  Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s” (Psalm 103:1-5).

~ Lovingkindness ~

 

This Series ~ This series of posts looks at some of the many attributes of God.  Generally, we move in alphabetical order.

 

Scripture ~ “The Lord passed before him and proclaimed, ‘The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, keeping steadfast love for thousands" (Exodus 34:6-7a ESV).

 

“Show Your marvelous lovingkindness by Your right hand, O You who save those who trust in You from those who rise up against them” (Psalm 17:7).

 

“How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings” (Psalm 36:7).

 

“Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You” (Psalm 63:3).

 

“This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope.  The Lord’s loving kindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail.  They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:21-23).

 

Comment ~ This Biblical word loving kindness is translated in a variety of ways in different translations including, but not limited to: “Steadfast Love,” “Loyal Love,”  “Faithful Love,” and dependable as seen below.

 

“I didn’t keep the news of your ways a secret, didn't keep it to myself. I told it all, how dependable You are, how thorough. I didn’t hold back pieces of love and truth for myself alone. I told it all, let the congregation know the whole story” (Psalm 40:10 MSG).
