Spirit of God Does… 2

 

~ He Guides Us Regarding All Truth ~

 

Series Note ~ The Spirit of God is the important third person of the Triune God. His ministry is almost entirely in support of the Christian and their individual spiritual growth.

 

For this reason, it is important for each Christian to understand the Holy Spirit and the various ways in which He works tirelessly providing constantly available help for each and every Christian.

 

While the Spirit of God is an equally important part of the God-head He works in the background and has a role of enhancing the glory of Jesus Christ and God the Father.

 

Scripture ~ “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. ¹³ However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. (John 16:12-13)

 

Comment ~ Jesus declares Himself “the Way, the Truth, and the Life.” (John 14:6) The Spirit guides you as you become more and more like Jesus Christ.

~ Truth ~

 

Scripture ~ I [Jesus] am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (John 14:6)

 

³¹ Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My Word, you are My disciples indeed. ³² And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.  (John 8:31-32)

 

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:14)

 

For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. ⁵⁰ And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak.” (John 12:49-50)

The Christian Walk, 7

~ Walk In Truth ~

 

Series Introduction  ~  The New Testament has much to say about how a believer should live their life.  Christians should never have to guess about the life that pleases God.  In this series we look at a variety of passages that speak about the Christian walk on earth. 

 

Scripture  ~ “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.  For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth.  I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth” (3 John 2-4).

 

Additional Scripture  ~  “Thomas said to Him, ‘Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?’  Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me’” (John 14:5-6).
