~ God Loves YOU ~

Quote ~ Jesus prayed to His Father, “You love them as much as You love Me” (John 17:23 NLT). God loves you as much as He loves Jesus.

 

Jesus says to His followers, “As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you. Now remain in My love” (John 15:9). Jesus loves you as much as God the Father loves Jesus.

 

The Bible says to us, “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” (1 John 3:1). God loves you so much, He made you His own son or daughter.

 

God’s Word declares, “He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all — how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things?” (Romans 8:32). God loves you so much, He gave everything for you. (Kathleen Kingsbury)

~ God IS Love ~

 

This Series ~ This series of posts looks at some of the many attributes of God.  Generally, we move in alphabetical order.

 

Scripture ~ “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another” (1 John 4:7-11).

Application ~ “‘Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?’  Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment.  And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’  On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets” (Matthew 22:36-40).
