King Josiah

~ 7 Alls of Separation: Lessons From King Josiah ~

The All of Separation  ~  Moreover Josiah put away those who consulted mediums and spiritists, the household gods and idols, all the abominations that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, that he might perform the words of the law which were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in the house of the Lord” (2 Kings 23:24).

The All of Affection  ~  Now before him there was no king like him, who turned to the Lord with all his heart, with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the Law of Moses; nor after him did any arise like him” (2 Kings 23:25).

The All of Soul (or life)  ~  Now before him there was no king like him, who turned to the Lord with all his heart, with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the Law of Moses; nor after him did any arise like him” (2 Kings 23:25).

The All of Strength  ~  Now before him there was no king like him, who turned to the Lord with all his heart, with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the Law of Moses; nor after him did any arise like him” (2 Kings 23:25).

The All of Fidelity  ~  Now before him there was no king like him, who turned to the Lord with all his heart, with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the Law of Moses; nor after him did any arise like him” (2 Kings 23:25).

The All of Perseverance  ~  Thus Josiah removed all the abominations from all the country that belonged to the children of Israel, and made all who were present in Israel diligently serve the Lord their God.  All his days they did not depart from following the Lord God of their fathers” (2 Chronicles 34:33).

The All of Influence  ~  Now before him there was no king like him, who turned to the Lord with all his heart, with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the Law of Moses; nor after him did any arise like him” (2 Kings 23:25).

4 “Alls”

~ 4 More Absolute Universals ~

All Humans Have Sinned (ruin of all)  ~  All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way” (Isaiah 53:6a).

All Sin Was Paid For By Christ (ransom for all)  ~  “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all” (Isaiah 53:6).

All Can Chose To Accept The Free Gift (forgiveness available for all)  ~  “Therefore, as through one man's offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man's righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life.  For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous” (Romans 5:18-19).

All Believers Have A Clear Record (justified from all their sin)  ~  “Let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses” (Acts 13:38-39).

Summary  ~  Everyone begins in the first all (ruined), Jesus Christ made provision with the second all (payment for sin), believers accept the gracious gift of the second all thereby receiving the third all (forgiveness of their sin).  The end result is the fourth all (a complete clean slate with God).
