Scripture ~ “The
Lord passed before him and proclaimed, ‘The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful
and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and
faithfulness, keeping steadfast love for thousands" (Exodus
34:6-7a ESV).
“Show
Your marvelous lovingkindness by Your right hand, O You who save those
who trust in You from those who rise up against them” (Psalm 17:7).
“How
precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put
their trust under the shadow of Your wings” (Psalm 36:7).
“Because
Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You”
(Psalm 63:3).
“This I recall
to my mind, therefore I have hope.
The
Lord’s loving kindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your
faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:21-23).
Comment ~ This
Biblical word loving kindness is translated in a variety of ways in
different translations including, but not limited to: “Steadfast Love,” “Loyal Love,” “Faithful Love,” and dependable as seen
below.
“I
didn’t keep the news of your ways a secret, didn't keep it to myself. I told it
all, how dependable You are, how thorough. I didn’t hold back pieces of
love and truth for myself alone. I told it all, let the congregation know the
whole story” (Psalm 40:10 MSG).
