Jesus Was Rejected, 16

 

~ Slandered In Court, 1 ~

 

This Series ~ Jesus Christ came to earth to save sinners. He lived a sinless life. He was a truly righteous man. But He was rejected by mankind. He died a cruel, painful death as a penalty for our sins. Those who now accept Him and trust Him for eternal salvation will live forever with Him without any more pains or sadness.

 

Scripture ~ “And those who had laid hold of Jesus led Him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled. ⁵⁸ But Peter followed Him at a distance to the high priest’s courtyard. And he went in and sat with the servants to see the end.

 

⁵⁹ “Now the chief priests, the elders, and all the council sought false testimony against Jesus to put Him to death, ⁶⁰ but found none. Even though many false witnesses came forward, they found none. But at last two false witnesses came forward ⁶¹and said, ‘This fellow said, “I am able to destroy the temple of God and to build it in three days”‘“ (Matthew 26:59, see also Mark 14:53–65; Luke 22:54, 55, 63–65; John 18:12, 18, 24),
