~ 7 Aspects of the “New Walk” ~

The 7 aspects of the Christian’s new walk make up the path of life.

A Straight Path  ~  “Let your eyes look straight ahead, and your eyelids look right before you.  Ponder the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established.  Do not turn to the right or the left; remove your foot from evil” (Proverbs 4:25-27).  “Make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed” (Hebrews 12:13).

A Narrow Path  ~  Jesus said, “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.  Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it” (Matthew 7:13-14).   

An Upward Path  ~  “The way of life winds upward for the wise, that he may turn away from hell below” (Proverbs 15:24).  “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31). 

An Old Path  ~  “Thus says the Lord: ‘Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; then you will find rest for your souls” (Jeremiah 6:16a).

A Pleasant Path  ~  “Her [wisdom’s] ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace” (Proverbs 3:17).

A Light Path  ~  “But the path of the just is like the shining sun, that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.  The way of the wicked is like darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble” (Proverbs 4:18-19). 

A Path That Leads To A Glorious City  ~  “And He led them forth by the right way,

that they might go to a city for a dwelling place” (Psalm 107:7).  “But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.  The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it.  The Lamb is its light.  And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it.  Its gates shall not be shut at all by day (there shall be no night there).  And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it.  But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life” (Revelation 21:10-11, 22-27).
