~ The Obedience Call As His Priest ~
Series Note ~ In this set of postings we will look at the calling of God from three aspects. First there is the Universal Call to all mankind for salvation. Second there is the call that all Christians receive—the Obedience Call. Finally, there is a call which all Christians receive, but sadly few accept, the Career Call.
In the first post in this series, we considered the Universal Call. In posts 2-5 we look at the new responsibilities for Christians who have accepted the Obedience Call. In posts 6-12 we examine the new roles of Christians who have accepted the Obedience Call.
Scripture ~ “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy” (1 Peter 2:9-10).
Comment ~ A prophet speaks for and about God to the people. A priest speaks to God on behalf of people. As a believer you have a solemn responsibility to represent the truth of God. As a royal priest you have a responsibility of intercessory prayer on behalf of others but also to witness of His greatness to those you come in contact with.
