~ Kind ~
Introduction ~ This series of posts looks at some
of the many attributes of God.
Generally, we move in alphabetical order.
Scripture ~ “Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles! Laud
Him, all you peoples! For His merciful kindness is great toward us, and
the truth of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord!” (Psalm 117:1-2).
“But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior
toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but
according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and
renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus
Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His grace we should become
heirs according to the hope of eternal life” (Titus 3:4-7).
“‘With a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment; but
with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you,’ says the Lord, your
Redeemer” (Isaiah 54:8).
“God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with
which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together
with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made
us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to
come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward
us in Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:4-7).
Application ~ “Therefore, as the elect of God,
holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility,
meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another,
if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you
also must do” (Colossians 3:12-13).
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness,
self-control. Against such there is no law” (Galatians 5:22-23).
