~ The Master’s Touch Is A Healing
Touch! ~
The Historical Account
~ “And
it happened when He was in a certain city, that behold, a man who was full of
leprosy saw Jesus; and he fell on his face and implored Him, saying, ‘Lord, if
You are willing, You can make me clean.’ Then He [Jesus Christ] put
out His hand and touched him, saying, ‘I am willing; be cleansed.’ Immediately
the leprosy left him. And He charged him to tell no one,
‘But go and show yourself to the priest, and make an offering for your
cleansing, as a testimony to them, just as Moses commanded.’ However, the report went around concerning
Him all the more; and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed
by Him of their infirmities. So He
Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed” (Luke
5:12-16).
Comments ~
First, in that day no one else would reach out and touch a leper! They were considered unclean and kept at a distance.
The all-powerful Savior reached out to that leper who asked for cleansing.
Second, throughout Scripture leprosy is often a type/symbol of sin. Third, when Jesus Christ touches a sinner who asks for healing from sin that
person is healed and receives salvation and eternal life.
the key question:
“Who do you say that I am?” (Matthew 16:15). This is the most important
question you will ever answer. If you do not answer it, or answer it
incorrectly, you have made the biggest mistake anyone can make!
