~ Walk Honestly
~
Series
Introduction ~ The New Testament has much to say about how a
believer should live their life.
Christians should never have to guess about the life that pleases
God. In this series we look at a variety
of passages that speak about the Christian walk on earth.
Scripture ~ “And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own
business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; that ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may
have lack of nothing. But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren,
concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have
no hope” (1 Thessalonians 4:11-13).
“The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let
us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of
light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness,
not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the
Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts
thereof” (Romans 13:12-14).
Quote ~ “To walk with someone means you are aware of their
presence. And this is true with
God. If you’re to walk with Him, you
must be continually aware of His presence.” —Kay Smith {Pleasing God)
