In Jesus We Have Holiness, 4 ~
Introduction ~ In this
series we look at a few of the verses which state what we have when we are “in
Christ.” Consider our series theme
verse:
“God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which
He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together
with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and
made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the
ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness
toward us in Christ Jesus. For by
grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the
gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in
Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should
walk in them” (Ephesians 2:4-10).
If you are a Christian, God views you as covered with the
righteousness of His Son Jesus Christ. Our responsibility is become
increasingly like our Savior in our daily life – living an increasingly holy
life!
Scripture ~ “Therefore,
as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness,
humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one
another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you,
so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond
of perfection” (Colossians 3:12-15).
