~ God Satisfies ~
This
Series ~ This
series of posts looks at some of the many attributes of God. Generally, we move in alphabetical order.
Scripture ~ “The
Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and
strengthen your bones; you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of
water, whose waters do not fail” (Isaiah 58:11).
“Blessed
are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be
satisfied” (Matthew 5:6 ESV).
“The
fear of the Lord leads to life, and he who has it will abide in satisfaction;
he will not be visited with evil” (Proverbs 19:23).
“For
I will satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will
replenish: (Jeremiah 31:25 ESV).
“My
praise shall be of You in the great assembly; I will pay My vows before those
who fear Him. The poor shall eat and be satisfied; those who seek Him
will praise the Lord.
Let
your heart live forever!” (Psalm 22:25-26).
“Because
Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You. Thus I will
bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. My soul shall
be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, and my mouth shall praise You with
joyful lips” (Psalm 63:3-5).
“Return,
O Lord! How long? And have compassion on Your servants. Oh, satisfy us early
with Your mercy, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days! Make us glad
according to the days in which You have afflicted us, the years in which we
have seen evil” (Psalm 90:13-15).
“Because
he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on
high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer
him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long
life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation” (Psalm 91:14-16).
“Bless
the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your
iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from
destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies
your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s”
(Psalm 103:2-5).
“He
waters the hills from His upper chambers; the earth is satisfied with the
fruit of Your works” (Psalm 104:13).
“The
Lord upholds all who fall, and raises up all who are bowed down. The eyes of
all look expectantly to You, and You give them their food in due season. You
open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing” (Psalm
145:14-16).
Comment ~ Do you know the satisfaction which comes
from being an adopted child of God?
