~ In Jesus We Have Eternal Life, 14 ~
Introduction ~ In this
series we look at a few of the verses which state what we have when we are “in
Christ.” Consider our series theme
verse:
“God,
who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even
when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by
grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together
in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He
might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in
Christ Jesus. For by grace you have
been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
not of works, lest anyone should boast.
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good
works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Ephesians
2:4-10).
Currently
we are posting some of the many verses which talk about eternal life?
What
is your definition of “eternal”?
Scripture ~ “Jesus
spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: ‘Father, the hour
has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, as You have
given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to
as many as You have given Him. And this is eternal life, that they may know
You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. I have glorified
You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do. And
now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had
with You before the world was’” (John 17:1-5).
Comment ~ I like to
consider one-word descriptions of the Bible.
There are many but my favorite is “forgiveness.”
