Christ’s Death, 2of5

~ The Purpose of His Death In His Own Words ~

For The Sheep  ~  Jesus said, “I am the Good Shepherd.  The Good Shepherd gives His life for the sheep” (John 10:11).

For The Many  ~  Jesus said, “And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave—just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many(Matthew 20:27-28).

For The World  ~  Jesus said, “I am the bread of life.  Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead.  This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die.  I am the living bread which came down from heaven.  If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world” (John 6:48-51).

the key question: “Who do you say that I am?” (Matthew 16:15). This is the most important question you will ever answer. If you do not answer it, or answer it incorrectly, you have made the biggest mistake anyone can make!
