~ 3 Aspects of the Christian’s
Confidence ~
A Christian Has The Privilege Of
Assurance ~ “For I know that my
Redeemer lives, and He shall stand at last on the earth” (Job
19:25). “Having been justified by faith, we have
peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1). “Beloved,
now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be,
but we know that when He is revealed, we
shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is” (1 John 3:2). “These things I have written to you who
believe in the name of the Son of God, that you
may know that you have eternal life,
and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God” (1 John
5:13).
A Christian’s Confidence Is Founded On
God’s Word ~ “For the Word of God
is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even
to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a
discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Hebrews
4:12). “For I want you to
know what a great conflict I have for you and those in Laodicea, and for as
many as have not seen my face in the flesh, that their hearts may be
encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the
full assurance of understanding, to the
knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and
knowledge” (Colossians 2:1-3). “For our gospel did not come
to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit and in much
assurance, as you know what kind of men we were among you for your sake” (1
Thessalonians 1:5).
A Christian’s Confidence Is Based On
Faith ~ “In whom we have
boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him” (Ephesians
3:12). “For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not
ashamed, for I know whom I have believed
and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until
that Day” (2 Timothy 1:12). “Therefore,
brethren, having boldness to enter the
Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated
for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the
house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith,
having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with
pure water” (Hebrews 10:19-22).
