Grace, 5of10

~ The Work of God’s Grace ~

Key Scripture  ~  “But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe.  For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus” (Romans 3:21-26).

Comment  ~    A key aspect of the work of grace is the justification of the sinner.  The term justification can be confusing in the English language.  Justification does not mean my sin was in anyway justified.  The Biblical term justification has been simply explained as, “Just as if I had never sinned!”

As far as the east is from the west [aren’t you glad He didn’t say “north from the south”?), so far has He removed our transgressions from us” (Psalm 103:12).

“‘This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,’ then He adds, ‘Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.’  Now where there is remission of these, there is no longer an offering for sin” (Hebrews 10:16-18).

Contemplate This  ~  We are [being] transfigured much like the Messiah, our lives gradually becoming brighter and more beautiful as [the grace of] God enters our lives and we become like Him” (2 Corinthians 3:18b, The Message).
