Jesus Christ Was Able To Walk On Water ~
Passages ~ “Immediately
Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side,
while He sent the multitudes away. And
when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to
pray. Now when evening came, He was
alone there. But the boat was now in the
middle of the sea, tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary. Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw Him walking on the
sea, they were troubled, saying, ‘It is a ghost!’ And they cried out for fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, ‘Be
of good cheer! It is I; do not be
afraid’” (Matthew 14:22-27).
“Immediately He made His disciples get
into the boat and go before Him to the other side, to Bethsaida, while He sent
the multitude away. And when He had sent
them away, He departed to the mountain to pray.
Now when evening came, the boat was in the middle of the sea; and He was
alone on the land. Then He saw them
straining at rowing, for the wind was against them. Now about the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea, and
would have passed them by. And when they saw Him walking on the sea, they
supposed it was a ghost, and cried out; for they all saw Him and were troubled.
But immediately He talked with them and
said to them, ‘Be of good cheer! It is
I; do not be afraid.’ Then He went up into
the boat to them, and the wind ceased. And
they were greatly amazed in themselves beyond measure, and marveled” (Mark
6:45-51).
“Therefore when Jesus perceived that
they were about to come and take Him by force to make Him king, He departed
again to the mountain by Himself alone. Now
when evening came, His disciples went down to the sea, got into the boat, and
went over the sea toward Capernaum. And
it was already dark, and Jesus had not come to them. Then the sea arose because a great wind was
blowing. So when they had rowed about
three or four miles, they saw Jesus
walking on the sea and drawing near the boat; and they were afraid. But He said to them, ‘It is I; do not be
afraid.’ Then they willingly received
Him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land where they were
going” (John 6:15-21).
Significance ~ Jesus
Christ is sovereign over all. We read, “He
is before all things, and in Him all things consist” (Colossians 1:17).
Comment ~ Your
very next breath is under the control of Jesus Christ.
the key question:
“Who do you say that I am?”
(Matthew 16:15). This is the most important
question you will ever answer. If you do
not answer it, or answer it incorrectly, you have made the biggest mistake
anyone can make!
