Christ in John 1, 3of3

~ Great Truths About Jesus Christ From John 1—Part C ~

“And the Word [Jesus Christ] became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14).

In the previous two posts we have seen great truths presented in the opening chapter of the Gospel of John.  Consider the only two responses to these great truths about Jesus Christ.

Rejection of Truth (Rejection of Jesus Christ)  ~  He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.  He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him” (John 1:10-11).

Reception of Truth (Reception of Jesus Christ)  ~  But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God” (John 1:12-13).

The Reality  ~  There can only be one king!  That’s why Herod tried to kill the baby Jesus (he believed the truth).

One of the neat thing about gifts is seeing your name on the package!  But it’s not really yours until you open it!  So it is regarding the salvation and forgiveness of Jesus Christ.

the key question:  “Who do you say that I am?” (Matthew 16:15).  This is the most important question you will ever answer.  If you do not answer it, or answer it incorrectly, you have made the biggest mistake anyone can make!
