~ The Christian’s Relation to the
World ~
Born Into The World ~ Jesus
Christ said, “A woman, when she is in labor, has sorrow because her hour has
come; but as soon as she has given birth to the child, she no longer remembers
the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world. Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see
you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you”
(John 16:21-22).
Given Out of The World ~ Jesus
also said, “I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out
of the world. They were Yours, You gave
them to Me, and they have kept Your word” (John 17:6).
Delivered From The World
~ “Grace
to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave
Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age,
according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory forever and ever.
Amen” (Galatians 1:3-5).
Crucified To The World
~ “But
God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by
whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world” (Galatians 6:14-15).
Not of The World ~ Jesus Christ said,
“I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should
keep them from the evil one. They are
not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth” (John 17:15-17).
A Stranger in The World ~ “Beloved,
now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be,
but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see
Him as He is” (1 John 3:2-3).
Hated By The World ~ Jesus
Christ said, “I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because
they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world” (John 17:14).
