~ Jesus Christ Is God’s ONLY Son! ~
Passages
~ Old Covenant: “For unto us a Child is born, unto us a
Son is given, and
the government shall be upon His shoulder; and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government
and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David and upon His kingdom,
to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.” (Isaiah
9:6-7).
New
Covenant: “For God so loved the world
that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not
perish but have everlasting life. For
God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world
through Him might be saved” (John 3:16-17).
Significance
~ God has ONLY ONE Son of His
own! Believers are adopted into His
family. “Even so we, when we were
children, were in bondage under the elements of the world. But when the fullness of the time had come,
God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those
who were under the law, that we might
receive the adoption as sons. And
because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your
hearts, crying out, ‘Abba, Father!’ Therefore
you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through
Christ” (Galatians 4:3-7).
the key question: “Who do you say that I am?” (Matthew 16:15). This is the most important question you will ever answer. If you do not answer it, or answer it incorrectly, you have made the biggest mistake anyone can make!
