~ Some Details of Redemption ~
Redemption by Blood
~ “In
Him we have redemption through His blood,
the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace” (Ephesians
1:7). “Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all
the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the
church of God which He purchased with His own blood” (Acts
20:28). “Not with the blood of goats and
calves, but with His own blood He entered
the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption”
(Hebrews 9:12).
Redemption By Power
~ “In
Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your
salvation; in whom also, having believed, you
were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the
purchased possession, to the praise of His glory” (Ephesians
1:13-14). “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of
redemption” (Ephesians 4:30). “Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the
Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the
adoption, the redemption of our body”
(Romans 8:23). Our full redemption will
occur when we arrive at our eternal home in heaven.
Redemption From a Life of Sin
~ “Looking
for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus
Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own
special people, zealous for good works” (Titus
2:13-14). “And if you call on the Father, who without
partiality judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves throughout
the time of your stay here in fear; knowing that you were not redeemed with
corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by
tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a
lamb without blemish and without spot” (1 Peter 1:17-19).
Redemption From The Curse
~ “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the
Law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, ‘Cursed is everyone
who hangs on a tree’), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the
Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit
through faith” (Galatians 3:13-14). “Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and forget
not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all
your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns
you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good
things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s” (Psalm
103:2-5).
Redemption Of The Body
~ “Not
only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we
ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body” (Romans
8:23). “For our
citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the
Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed
to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to
subdue all things to Himself” (Philippians 3:20-21).
