~ The Process of Perfection ~
Absolute Perfection (in
God alone) ~ “Do you know how
the clouds are balanced, those wondrous works of Him who is perfect in knowledge?” (Job
37:16).
Relative Perfection (said
of men) ~ “Then the Lord said to Satan, ‘Have you considered
My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?’” (Job
1:8).
Growth in Perfection (occurring in men) ~ “It is God who arms me with strength, and makes my way perfect” (Psalm
18:32). “The Lord will perfect that which concerns me;
Your mercy, O Lord, endures
forever; do not forsake the works of Your hands” (Psalm 138:8). “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror
the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to
glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord” (2
Corinthians 3:18).
Summary
~ While on earth we still sin,
but keep in mind two things. First, in
normal (not “average”) Christian growth the believer is becoming increasingly
like his/her Savior. Second, God the
Father views us right now as covered with the righteousness of His Son Jesus
Christ.
