~ Jesus Christ Is The Preeminent One ~
Passage
~ “Jesus Christ is the image of
the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are
in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or
dominions or principalities or powers. All
things were created through Him and for Him.
And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church,
who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence” (Colossians 1:15-18).
Significance
~ There are many religions—but only One God. The true God is a triune being. Jesus Christ one of the members of this
Trinity died for the salvation of mankind.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ invites individuals to have a personal relationship with Him.
Comment ~ “As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up [on the Cross of Calvary], that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God” (John 3:14-18).
the key question:
“Who do you say that I am?”
(Matthew 16:15). This is the most
important question you will ever answer. If you do not answer it, or answer it
incorrectly, you have made the biggest mistake anyone can make!
