~ In Jesus We Have Forgiveness, 7 ~
Introduction ~ In
this series we look at a few of the verses which state what we have when we are
“in Christ.” Consider our series theme
verse:
“God,
who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even
when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by
grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together
in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He
might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ
Jesus. For by grace you have been
saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of
works, lest anyone should boast. For we
are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God
prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:4-10).
Scripture
~ “But Peter and the other apostles
answered and said: ‘We ought to obey God rather than men. The God of our fathers raised up Jesus whom
you murdered by hanging on a tree. Him God
has exalted to His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to
Israel and forgiveness of sins.
And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit
whom God has given to those who obey Him” (Acts 5:29-32).
Comment
~ I like to consider one-word
descriptions of the Bible. There are
many but my favorite is “forgiveness.”
