~ Qualification For Asking
& God’s Encouragement For Asking ~
Jesus
said, “Ask, and it will be given to you;
seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For
everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks
it will be opened. Or what man is there
among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a
serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children,
how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who
ask Him” (Matthew 7:7-11).
Your Qualification For Asking (abiding
in Christ) ~ Jesus said, “If you
abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask
what you desire, and it shall be done for you” (John
15:7). “And whatever
we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those
things that are pleasing in His sight.
And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His
Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment. Now he
who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by
the Spirit whom He has given us” (1 John 3:22-24). “But whoever keeps His word, truly the love
of God is perfected in him. By this we
know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself
also to walk just as He walked” (1 John 2:5-6).
God Encourages You To Ask (the promise of Christ)
~ Jesus said, “And in that day
you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly,
I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask,
and you will receive, that your joy may be full” (John
16:23-24).
God Encourages You To Ask (God will hear your request)
~ “Now this is the confidence
that we have in Him, that if we ask
anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we
ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him” (1
John 5:14-15).
God Encourages You To Ask (God the Father loves you)
~ Jesus said, “These things I
have spoken to you in figurative language; but the time is coming when I will
no longer speak to you in figurative language, but I will tell you plainly
about the Father. In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not
say to you that I shall pray the Father for you; for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have
believed that I came forth from God” (John 16:25-27).
