~ 7 S Overview of God’s Grace ~
Sanctifying Grace
~ “When he came and had seen
the grace of God, he was glad, and encouraged them all that with purpose of
heart they should continue [progress] with the Lord” (Acts 11:23).
Strengthening Grace
~ “And
Jesus said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made
perfect in weakness.’ Therefore most
gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest
upon me” (2 Corinthians 12:9).
Sustaining Grace
~ “And
God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all
sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work” (2
Corinthians 9:8).
Stabilizing Grace
~ “Do not be carried about with various and strange
doctrines. For it is good that the heart
be established by grace, not with foods which have not profited those who have
been occupied with them” (Hebrews 13:9).
Serving Grace
~ “But
by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain;
but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God
which was with me” (1 Corinthians 15:10).
Supplying Grace
~ “And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but
grace and truth came through Jesus Christ” (John 1:16-17).
Saving Grace
~ “Nevertheless, brethren, I
have written more boldly to you on some points, as reminding you, because of
the grace given to me by God, that I might be a minister of Jesus Christ to the
Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering of the Gentiles
might be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit. Therefore I have reason to glory in Christ
Jesus in the things which pertain to God. For I will not dare to speak of any of
those things which Christ has not accomplished through me, in word and deed, to
make the Gentiles obedient — in mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the
Spirit of God, so that from Jerusalem and round about to Illyricum I have fully
preached the gospel of Christ. And so I
have made it my aim to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I
should build on another man's foundation, but as it is written: ‘To whom He was
not announced, they shall see; and those who have not heard shall understand’”
(Romans 15:15-21).
Summary (conclusion) ~ “God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you,
