Possible Attitudes From Ministry ~
Prolog ~ “As each one has received a gift, minister it to one
another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God” (1
Peter 4:10).
In
this post we look at: THOUGHT PROCESSES RELATED TO SERVICE.
Cast
Down (by discouragement) ~ “For
indeed, when we came to Macedonia, our bodies had no rest, but we were troubled
on every side. Outside were conflicts, inside were fears. Nevertheless God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of
Titus, and not only by his coming, but also by the consolation with which he
was comforted in you, when he told us of your earnest desire, your mourning,
your zeal for me, so that I rejoiced even more” (2 Corinthians 7:5-7).
Puffed
Up (in pride) ~ “So
let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon
or sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of
Christ. Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility
and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, and
not holding fast to the Head, from whom all the body, nourished and knit
together by joints and ligaments, grows with the increase that is from God” (Colossians
2:16-19).
Pressing
On (by faith) ~ “Not
that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has
also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not
count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things
which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the
upward call of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:12-14).
