Christian Concepts Series
(Timeless Truths – Contemporary Perspectives)

(1)   The Church – Matthew 13:45-46 – FREE*
God’s Church: Christ’s Pearl ~ The early parables of Matthew 13 are well known and widely understood.  GOD'S CHURCH: Christ's Pearl is a unique study of one of the later parables, "the one pearl of great price."  After providing a clear exposition of the parable, this landmark book provides a fascinating study with clear lessons for today.
This is an excellent Bible study.  Mr. Russell really develops insights that I hadn’t appreciated before in One Precious Pearl.  He writes clearly so that the material is easily understood by both clergy and laity.  It was very edifying for me to read.”  ~ William J. Petersen, Emeritus Senior Acquisitions Editor, Baker Book House and Fleming H. Revell (regarding the previous print book – which received 5 literary awards)

(2)   The Christ – 1 John 1:5 – FREE*
God's Nature: Sonlight Sunlight identifies fascinating parallels between natural and spiritual light and contrasts the natural and spiritual light of the world.  Analogies teach profound truth in simple language.  Written in short easily digestible segments.  Think and Grow questions at the end of each chapter make it an ideal small group study.
First there was Tozer with The Knowledge of the Holy, and then Packer gave us Knowing God, and now Russell has taken us further with God Light.  There is a tremendous need for a book on this subject. We have witnessed the publication of many books around the statement “God is Love,” but I cannot recall ever seeing one around the statement “God is Light.” It is important that these two attributes of God be brought into conjunction with each other because it is really impossible to discuss love intelligently without understanding light.”  ~ Dr. Earl D. Radmacher, General Editor Nelson Study Bible/New King James Study Bible (regarding the pervious print version – which won 6 literary awards)

(3)   The Christian – Psalm 1:3 (Pre-order now, except Amazon – available April 15th)
GOD’S CHILD: Like a Tree like the other books in this series, looks at amazing parallels between physical and spiritual realities.
The definitive work on Psalm 1:3.  Mr. Russell has a tremendous gift for analogy.  The most impressive thing is the way he has built off of existing undeniable Scriptural concepts.  I am very impressed with his use of certain Scriptures, such as with regard to trees being deceptive in appearance.  ...  His work is very interesting, very clear, and intensely practical.”   ~ Ronald B. Allen, Senior Professor of Bible Exposition, Dallas Theological Seminary (regarding an early draft of this book)

Temporary Or Eternal Fool?

~ Death Comes To All: The Wise & The Foolish ~

King David lamented over the death of Abner who had pledged to help make him king over all Israel.  Abner had fallen into a trap set by his enemies and though he could have escaped he was murdered and David lamented, saying, “Should Abner die as a fool dies?

“And the king sang a lament over Abner and said: ‘Should Abner die as a fool dies?  Your hands were not bound nor your feet put into fetters; as a man falls before wicked men, so you fell.’  Then all the people wept over him again” (2 Samuel 3:33-34).

Jim Elliot, a martyred missionary wrote: “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.”  Jim gave his life in 1956 as a missionary to a then unreached tribe.  But Jim has eternal life with God!

Jesus Christ said, “When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, ‘Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.  For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.  For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?  Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?  For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels’” (Mark 8:34-38).

What about you?  If you died today by an unexpected event (auto accident, heart attack, etc.) where would you spend eternity?  Are you sure?

Psalm 119, 20of27

~ Read God’s Word To Increase Your Compassion ~

119:32 I will run the course of Your commandments,
For You shall enlarge my heart.

Comment  ~  God is a compassionate God.  Jesus Christ demonstrated great compassion throughout His life on earth.  We are to be Christ-like.

“By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us.  And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.  But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?  My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.  And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him.  For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.  Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God.  And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.  And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment” (1 John 3:16-23).
