Quiet, 1of4

 ~ A Time To Not Be Quiet ~

Principle  ~  “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven    A time to keep silence, and a time to speak” (Ecclesiastes 3:1, 7b).

A Time To Preach (what God has done and can do)  ~  Preach the word!  Be ready in season and out of season.  Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching” (2 Timothy 4:2).

A Time To Speak Up (call upon God)  ~  “Then those who went before warned him that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more, ‘Son of David, have mercy on me!’” (Luke 18:39).

A Time To Witness (what God has done for you)  ~  “So they again called the man who was blind, and said to him, ‘Give God the glory!  We know that this Man [Jesus Christ] is a sinner.’  He answered and said, ‘Whether He is a sinner or not I do not know.  One thing I know: that though I was blind, now I see’” (John 9:24-25).

A Time To Defend (the truth of the Word of God)  ~  “And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good?  But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed.  ‘And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.’  But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed.  For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil” (1 Peter 3:13-17).

Summary  ~  Sometimes it is wrong to be silent.

Bible Answer, 85

 ~ Did You Get It Right? ~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ bible answer ~~~~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
question:  There are over 20 dreams mentioned in the Bible.  Who was the only woman mentioned as having a dream?
answer:  Pilate’s wife.
Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to releasing to the multitude one prisoner whom they wished.  And at that time they had a notorious prisoner called Barabbas.  Therefore, when they had gathered together, Pilate said to them, "Whom do you want me to release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?" For he knew that they had handed Him over because of envy.  While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, ‘Have nothing to do with that just Man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of Him.’
“But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitudes that they should ask for Barabbas and destroy Jesus.  The governor answered and said to them, ‘Which of the two do you want me to release to you?’  They said, ‘Barabbas!’  Pilate said to them, ‘What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?’  They all said to him, ‘Let Him be crucified’!” (Matthew 27:15-22).
God Our Rock, 16
 ~ I Can Question My Rock ~
Introduction  ~  In Matthew 7:24-27 and Luke 6:47-49 Jesus relates the importance of building your house upon rock rather than sand.  This principle is even more critical when it comes to our spiritual life.  Each post in this series looks at a different Biblical passage which refers to our God as a Rock (not a complete list).
Scripture  ~  “I will say to God my Rock, ‘Why have You forgotten me?  Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?’  As with a breaking of my bones, my enemies reproach me, while they say to me all day long, ‘Where is your God?’
“Why are you cast down, O my soul?  And why are you disquieted within me?  Hope in God; for I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God” (Psalm 42:9-11).
