Conscience, 4

 ~ Conscience Without Offense ~

Series Note ~ The conscience plays a crucial role in human behavior.  The Scripture has much to say about our conscience.  In these early posts of this series, we are looking at various Biblical Descriptions of our conscience.

Scripture ~ “This being so, I myself always strive to have a conscience without offense toward God and men” (Acts 24:16).

“And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men” (Acts 24:16 KJV).

Comment ~ Can you make this statement with a clear conscience?

God Attribute, 15

 ~ God Communicates ~

This Series  ~  This series of posts looks at some of the many attributes of God.  Generally, we move in alphabetical order.

Introduction  ~  In our era the primary way God communicates is through the Holy Spirit – an equal member of the Triune God.

Scripture  ~  First, we are extremely privileged in our day to have ready access to the written Word of God – The Holy Bible.  Some one has described the Bible with this acrostic: Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth.  That is in fact a good summary of the Bible’s  content.

Remember also that before leaving earth our Lord assured His disciples.  “These things I have spoken to you while being present with you.  But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.  Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:25-27).

The Holy Spirit constantly lives inside every true believer and provides timely instructions throughout our daily lives.

Comment  ~  The Spirit of God intervenes and communicates in human affairs.  An interesting study is one of God’s revelations to Elijah recorded in I Kings 19:11-18.

Quote  ~ “God has no [smart] phone but I talk to Him [and message Him].  He has no Facebook, but He is my friend.  He does not have Twitter, but I still follow Him.  Amen!”
